Two things in the works: walking-route PDFs you can use offline on the day, and prints of the ukiyo-e that depict the exact places covered in these guides.
Walking guides (PDF)
Route-by-route walking guides to historic Tokyo, built from the articles on this site and designed to work on a phone with no signal. One per neighbourhood: Asakusa, Ryogoku, Yanaka & Nezu, and the Imperial Palace grounds. Each covers the route, what survived versus what was rebuilt, timings, and where to stop.
In production. The first guide follows the Asakusa article.
Ukiyo-e prints
Hiroshige and Hokusai woodblock prints of the places these guides cover — the Kaminarimon gate, Ryogoku Bridge, the Sumida river — reproduced from public-domain museum scans. Planned as instant digital downloads and as printed posters.
In production. A link will appear here once the shop is live.
